Stories, updates, and tips from LariDea Kids

A proper coffee while they play: the LariDea coffee bar

When we planned LariDea, we wanted 2 things under one roof: a playground where Ilaria and Amedea could climb, slide and make friends, and a counter where we could sit down with a proper coffee. We couldn't find that in Pattaya, so we built both. We opened on 16 December 2025, and our first flat white went over the counter thatday.

The coffee bar is on our ground floor, a few steps from Rainbow Pony, the play floor for ages 1 to 3. Our baristas make the coffee, smoothies and fresh juices there, and we run it as a café in its own right.

Why the coffee matters to us

Play sessions at LariDea last 1, 3 or 5 hours. That's a long time for an adult to sit, so we wanted the café to be worth sitting in, with good coffee, a full food menu and comfortable seats.

We also built LariDea as a meeting point for Thai and expat families. Our team speaks Thai and English at the counter, so everyone can order in the language they prefer.

We're on the floor most days ourselves. If something isn't right with your order, tell us and we'll fix it while you're still here.

Our beans: 2 roasts from a Bangkok roastery

Our beans come from a roastery in Bangkok, and we keep 2 roasts:

  • Medium roast:   a blend of Brazil Santos and Laos Bolaven beans
  • Dark roast:   Laos Bolaven beans on their own

Laos Bolaven beans grow on the Bolaven Plateau in southern Laos. Brazil Santos takes its name from the port of Santos, which has long shipped Brazil's coffee to the world.

In general, a medium roast keeps more of the bean's own taste, and a dark roast tastes bolder and more bitter-sweet. If you'd like to know which roast is in your cup, ask at the counter.

The coffee menu

The menu covers the classics, plus a few Thai and café specials:

  • Black coffee:   espresso and ristretto, single or double, plain, as a macchiato or con panna, plus americano and long black
  • With milk:   piccolo, flat white, cappuccino, latte, mocha and caramel macchiato
  • Iced:   iced latte, cappuccino, mocha and caramel macchiato, plus americano, plain or with orange or coconut
  • Specials:   egg coffee, salted coffee, Thai-style coffee, Vienna, affogato, dirty, tiramisu coffee, and the black orange, an americano with yuzu

New to some of these names? A ristretto is a shorter, stronger espresso shot. A flat white has less milk than a latte, so the coffee comes through more. An affogato is a scoop of ice cream with a shot of espresso poured over it.

Prices are on our Coffee Shop page.

Tea, matcha and other drinks

For a break from coffee, there's:

  • matcha, hot or iced, plus iced coconut, orange and strawberry matcha
  • Thai tea, hot or iced
  • hot jasmine, chamomile, Earl Grey, green and black tea
  • iced lemon tea, fruit tea and jasmine tea
  • yuzu soda with orange or peach, and honey lemon soda, with or without ginger

Drinks for the kids

For children, the menu has:

  • babychino, cocoa, fresh milk, honey milk and strawberry fresh milk
  • milkshakes in 6 flavors: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, Oreo, pistachio and cotton candy
  • fresh orange juice, pomegranate juice, and strawberry, banana, mango or watermelon smoothies
  • ice cream in the same 6 flavors as the milkshakes

A babychino lets a toddler have their own cup at the table while you drink yours.

Food for children and parents

The food menu has hot dogs, fries, nuggets, mini pizzas and garlic bread with cheese. There are also sandwiches, wraps, and toasts with avocado, eggs, salmon or smoked salmon.

For dessert, choose from waffles, croissants, cheesecake, cupcakes, honey cake, honey toast with ice cream, egg tarts and tiramisu.

If your child has a food allergy, tell our team when you order. We do our best with dietary needs. Cross-contamination can still happen in our kitchen, so we can't promise that any dish is free of every allergen.

Coffee without a playground ticket

You don't need a playground ticket to visit the café. Walk in, order at the counter, and sit at the indoor seats by the front window or on our outdoor terrace.

Grandparents, friends meeting for a catch-up and parents with an hour of emails to answer are all welcome, ticket or not. Terminal 21 is right next door, so the café is an easy stop before or after shopping.

Inside, everyone wears socks, café included. If you forget yours, LariDea grip socks are sold at reception.

Working from the café

The café has free Wi-Fi. If you need an hour of focused work, a nanny can stay with your child while you work nearby.

Where to sit while your child plays

Café seating is close to Rainbow Pony, so parents of toddlers can sit a few steps from their child. There's seating for parents on both floors, including upstairs in Astro Pony, the play floor for ages 4 to 10.

Food and drinks from the café stay in the café. The rule keeps hot drinks away from running children and crumbs off the play floors.

Our other café rules are short:

  • No running in the café.
  • No food or drinks from outside, except formula, baby food or anything your child needs for a medical reason.

If you'd like a longer coffee break while your child plays, you can book a nanny by the hour. Our story about the nanny service explains how it works.

Hot drinks and small children

A hot drink and a curious toddler need a little planning. A few habits help:

  • Carry hot drinks to your table first, then bring your child over.
  • Keep your cup in the middle of the table, away from the edge.
  • Put your drink down before you pick your child up.

Come for a coffee

The café is open every day from 11:00 to 20:00, public holidays included, at the Again Project next to Terminal 21 Pattaya (179/40, Muang Pattaya, Bang Lamung, Chon Buri 20150). Come with your children, or come for the coffee on itsown.
